Is he a rapper or a country rocker or a country rapper or what? Only Kid Rock really knows, but you can find out at the KFC Yum! Center on January 20, when KR will do his thing. Tickets run $129.50, $89.50, $69.50 and $39.50. Here's "Po-Dunk" from his latest, Sweet Southern Sugar:

New York state's afro-Cuban  band The Mambo Kings join the Louisville Orchestra for an evening of Latin jazz in Whitney Hall on January 20.  The publicity says this: "From the sultry melancholy of Astor Piazzolla and the burning Afro Cuban jazz of Tito Puente to the rhythmic playfulness of jazz great Dave Brubeck and the pop strains of The Beatles. the Mambo Kings will be your guide on a Latin jazz tour of the Pan American experience, featuring original arrangements and compositions of music from the U.s., Perú, Argentina, Cuba and Puerto Rico." So even the LO is staging tribute shows. Tickets are $27 up. From a 2015 Jazz Festival:

The Avett Brothers have a very unusual three-night stand at the Louisville Palace, from January 18 to January 20. That says pretty much all that needs to be said about their popularity in Louisville. Tickets run $59.50-$99.50. Here's the video for "Ain't No Man" to keep your mind occupied while you wait for the ticket order to go through:
